During the War between England and France, one day, the French had a discussion with the English. They agreed to slice off their middle finger if they lost the battle. The reason why they chose the middle finger is because they couldn't fire the arrow anymore without the middle finger.
The English won the battle, and the French had to slice off their middle finger. The delighted English then went showing their middle finger as an insult saying "come and get my middle finger!"
